The Silver Bullet mod has been around for quite some time now. I’m not sure how I’ve overlooked doing a review on this device yet. Seeing as it’s such a popular electronic cigarette, I felt I should try it out and let you guys know what I think of it.
First, I’ll get the specification / technical stuff out of the way. For those of you who don’t know, The Silver Bullet is a 3.7V, unregulated, tube-style mod that takes a standard 18650 battery. If you’re unfamiliar with the definition of “unregulated”, I will explain. It simply means “what you have is what you get” in terms of voltage from your battery. This means when the battery is fully charged you’re going to get the best vape. As the charge in the battery diminishes, so does the amount and quality of the vapor.
Look / Feel
As mentioned earlier, the Silver Bullet is a tube-style mod. It’s design is simple, but personally, I think it looks great. Also, AltSmoke offers a whopping 14 different combinations of body color and button choices. My personal favorite is the Silver Vein, but the White Body with Black Switch comes in a close 2nd. Then again, it doesn’t really matter what color you get if you cover it with one of the AWESOME vinyl skins from J-Wraps.
The Silver Bullet is slightly heavy, but is built like a tank. If you know me at all, you know I’m going to drop my PV pretty regularly. This thing stands up to the abuse I put it through and still vapes like a champ.
I have one minor complaint with the SB, and it’s a complaint I seem to always have about most electronic cigarettes. I love the way the button/switch looks on the SB, but I’m not a huge fan of the way it feels. I’m a big believer in “clicky” buttons as opposed to “soft” buttons. I want to know when I click the switch in.
For this round of testing I decided to use the old go-to Boge 510 Atomizer. I’ve been becoming more and more of a fan of dripping lately, so that’s how I tested it. The juice for these tests came from Virgin Vapor.
With a fully charged 18650 battery, the Silver Bullet was performing like a pro right out of the gate. It’s everything you could want out of a 3.7V e-cig. The SB produced nice white clouds of vapor and had a nice throat hit to finish it off. When the battery gets close to dying, you can definitely notice a difference in the vape. Not a huge deal if you have The Kick.
Everyone’s least favorite category, “Price”. So, How much is the Silver Bullet going to set you back? Well, at AltSmoke, which is a wonderful company, the SB is going to run you around $84.99. That’s not a terrible price for a good device that’s built solid. However, you will have to purchase your 18650 Battery, Charger, and Atomizer/Cartomizers separately. That’s still not too bad. All those parts can also be used with other devices as well. Visit this link to see the accessories available for the Silver Bullet.
